Privacy Policy

Version 2026-06-01 · GDPR-aligned. This policy explains what personal data we process and the rights you can exercise.

1. Who we are

COMPENI operates a private, invitation-based corporate expert network that lets organisations connect their people with verified coaches and mentors.

For the personal data of your organisation's members, your employer acts as the data controller and COMPENI acts as a data processor. For experts and account-level data, COMPENI acts as the data controller. This page explains how we handle personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we collect

Account data: your name, work email, role, profile picture and password (stored only as a secure hash).

Expert profile data (experts only): bio, title, focus areas, expertise, languages, location, certifications, achievements, links and any CV/résumé you upload.

Usage data: learning goals, session bookings, meeting links, feedback and notifications you generate on the platform.

Consent records: the consents you give or withdraw, with a timestamp and policy version, for auditability.

3. Lawful basis for processing

Contract: to provide the service you or your employer signed up for (accounts, bookings, sessions).

Consent: for optional processing such as product/marketing emails — you can withdraw this at any time.

Legitimate interests: to keep the platform secure, prevent abuse and improve the product.

4. How we use your data

To create and operate your account and workspace.

To match users with verified experts and manage bookings, calendars and session feedback.

To send transactional notifications (e.g. booking confirmations, invitations).

To send optional product updates, only where you have opted in.

5. Your rights under the GDPR

Right of access & portability (Art. 15 & 20): download a machine-readable copy of your data from the Privacy & data centre.

Right to rectification (Art. 16): correct your personal data at any time from your profile.

Right to erasure (Art. 17): delete your account — we anonymise your personal fields and revoke your sessions immediately.

Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7): turn off optional communications at any time, without affecting the service.

Right to object & restrict (Art. 18 & 21): contact us to object to or restrict certain processing.

You may exercise all of these yourself from Privacy & data, or by contacting us below.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, personal identifiers are anonymised immediately; non-personal records (such as aggregate booking history) may be retained for legitimate business and reporting purposes.

7. Sharing & sub-processors

We share data only with the sub-processors needed to run the service (e.g. cloud hosting and file storage). We do not sell your personal data.

8. Contact & Data Protection Officer

For any privacy request or question, contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@compeni.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Manage your data

Signed-in users can export or delete their data and manage consents from the Privacy & data centre.
